Switch Assembly

Replacement toggle and push button switch assemblies activate liftgates for gravity down or power down movement.   3-wire switches are used for a power up/gravity down liftgates while 4-wire switches are used for a power up/power down liftgate.  

Switch assemblies are generally mounted on an accessible part of the rear frame of the truck.  Wiring may be short leads to an internal wiring system or an extended cord reaching to the underbody power unit.   Popular is a molded switch assembly that is weather resistant and not readily capable of being damaged.   Heavy duty toggle or push button component switches are standard.  Wire colors are have changed over the years as new part numbers have evolved.
